Co-Founder and Executive Director, Youth Climate Lab
Dominique Souris is the co-founder and executive director of the Youth Climate Lab, working with a team of young climate leaders to accelerate climate action by amplifying youth-led climate efforts and designing new initiatives to elevate the role of young people in climate policy. Dominique is on the advisory board of the Foundation for Environmental Stewardship (FES) and is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. She has worked on climate change, adaptation finance, youth engagement and energy policy issues at both private and public sector organizations.
She is also a graduate student in the Global Governance program at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and was a Graduate Research Fellow at Centre for International Governance Innovation, conducting work on innovative financing for climate-related loss and damage and refugee responsibility sharing.
“Canada faces unique challenges to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals,” says Dominique. “How we promote reconciliation while we increase our focus on accelerating innovation? How do we achieve a just transition while we continue to expand natural resource extraction without introducing the necessary social complements?”
Along with learning Spanish, Dominique spends her down time trying out new sports and enjoying delicious coffee.
