Monday, June 25, 2012

Forum Associate Vagish Sharma recently presented the Energy 2030 Blueprint to a number of international ministerial officials at the 2012 Asia-Pacific Leadership Program on Environment for Sustainable Development, hosted by the UN Environment Programme - Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development (IESD).

The gathering focused on helping future leaders to cultivate a framework for sustainable development and low-carbon economies across the Asia-Pacific region. Vagish Sharma – identified by IESD as a young leader alongside 25 others from 14 different countries in the region – was invited to participate as a representative of his home country of India.

The five-day program had young leaders engage with energy/ environmental experts and policy-makers to focus on exchange in three dimensions of sustainability: the human dimension, the environmental dimension, and the economic and social dimension.

Vagish took the opportunity to present the Equinox Blueprint for a group of international ministerial officials. He explored the multidisciplinary and intergenerational process used at the Equinox Summit: Energy 2030, while discussing the long-term opportunities in each of the five pillars from the Blueprint.
