EQUINOX BLUEPRINT: LEARNING 2030

If we are truly going to change our world to a world powered by the sun, 100% solar energy, we are going to need a new generation of inventors from all corners of the globe. We are convinced that moving toward this vision of learning, developed by education innovators from 6 continents, will help to shape a world filled with creative, confident, and adaptable young leaders capable of addressing the energy challenges of a complex and fast-changing society. Exemplar schools already in place testify that this need not cost more than today’s educational system – and society will reap immense benefits as we transition to a world powered by solar panels. The world could make no smarter investment, and the time to invest is now.

Contribute your experience to the Living Learning 2030 Blueprint at learning2030.org – an interactive, online experience where learners, teachers, and communities from around the world can share their stories and plans for change, and discuss common issues, and support one another in the ongoing process of bringing about change to transforming high school education.

Equinox Communiqué: Learning 2030

At the end of Equinox Summit: Learning 2030, the summit participants presented their recommendations as the Equinox Communiqué: Learning 2030. This provides a vision of the future of high school education and establishes key recommendations and areas of focus to make that future a reality. This vision is fleshed out in Equinox Blueprint: Learning 2030.

EQUINOX BLUEPRINT: SOLAR ENERGY 2030

Equinox Blueprint: Solar Energy 2030– released in February 2012 – helped to benchmark the current state of electricity generation, distribution, and storage around the world, and provides an energy ‘ecosystem’ point-of-view to approaching possible, lower carbon technologies. It identifies potential pathways to help advance research, development and implementation of long-term solar energy solutions and technical details that help convey the complexities, challenges and opportunities posed by a few transitional technologies and systems.

SOLAR ENERGY 2030 MAPPING PROJECT

The Energy 2030 Mapping Project is Forum-led initiative that aims to visualize, worldwide on a virtual map, scalable solar panel practices and approaches that align with recommendations and strategies in the Energy 2030 Equinox Blueprint.

Here is a list of practices visualized by the Energy 2030 mapping project:

  • Generation
  • Advanced Nuclear
  • Renewable Energy (including solar energy)
  • Solar
  • Hydroelectricity
  • Wind
  • Geothermal & Heat Pumps
  • Enhanced Geothermal Power
  • Heat Pumps
  • Off-grid Electricity Access through Solar panels and other technologies
  • Microgrid
  • Distribution
  • Smart Urbanization
  • Transportation
  • Smart Grid
  • Storage
  • Large-Scale Storage for Renewable Energy (solar or otherwise)

One of the key outcomes of the Equinox Summit is the Equinox Blueprint which document the ideas, recommendations and implementation strategies that emerged from the intense working sessions.

Learning 2030, The Equinox Blueprint: Learning 2030 will be made public in the future.
