GETTING TO THE PERIMETER INSTITUTE

The Equinox Summit: Energy 2030 is hosted at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. All keynote and plenary presentations as well as public lectures and panel discussions will be available by live webcast, so if you can't make it to the event, you can tune in from anywhere in the world!

By Car:

The Perimeter Institute is located in south-western Ontario just off Highway 401. To get to the event:

  • Exit 278 (Highway 8 West) and follow 8 West for 5 km to Highway 85, towards Hwy 7 East.
  • Proceed on Hwy 85 for 5 km to Bridgeport Road exit.
  • Turn right at the off-ramp, traveling west.
  • Continue along Bridgeport for 3 kilometres.
  • The Perimeter Institute will be on your right-hand side immediately after Albert St.

Parking is available in several City of Waterloo parking lots surrounding the Perimeter Institute.

By Air:

Waterloo is located 90 kilometres west of Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ). If you need to arrange transportation to Waterloo:

By Rail:

VIA Rail (tel. 1.888.842.7245) offers passenger rail service which runs daily from Chicago to Toronto to Kitchener. The closest rail station to the event is located at 126 Weber Street West, Kitchener, Ontario.

By Bus:

  • Outside of Waterloo, you can book bus travel to the city with Greyhound Canada or Coach Canada. Buy your tickets in advance by visiting their websites.
