Greening Sacred Spaces Waterloo/Wellington/Dufferin works with faith communities to create an environmentally-friendly place of worship, educate members about environmental issues, plan environmental events and eco-friendly projects. Joining this free network gives faith communities access to free resources including environmental workshop outlines, do-it-yourself energy and waste audits, and information on free programs such as networking/training meetings, events and other issues pertinent to faith communities. THEMUSEUM has a living wall, zero-footprint calculator and recycling station to educate kids and adults alike on environmental issues. In early 2007 Words Worth switched electricity providers to Bullfrog Power, Ontario’s first 100% green electricity retailer. Their plastic bags are biodegradable, and they have converted their lighting to a more efficient ballast and tube system. |
